Audubon PTSA Board

Who is the Audubon PTSA Board?

The Audubon PTSA Board is a group of elected volunteers (called officers) who have oversight and accountability for the PTSA's programs and budget. We are very proud that our PTSA board reflects the diversity of our school community. Please take a moment to read the short biographies of each of our talented and hardworking board members. We will be introducing 3 board members each week.

Lilach Geppert-Shapira, President

I was born in Israel and we moved to Redmond five and a half years ago. I'm married to Lior and we have 3 kids: Shachar, Tamar and Yotam. I'm a psychologist and a parent educator working part time. I've been volunteering at school for the past 5 years and this is my first year as the president and on the board. I love volunteering, helping out and being the connecting link between parents, students and school's staff members.

Trina Ring, Co-Treasurer

Hello!  My name is Trina and this is my 10th year at Audubon, 15th if you count the years that I attended Audubon as well.  :)  We have 2 boys, 1 in 3rd grade and 1 at Lake Washington HS as a sophomore.  I have really enjoyed all the times I have volunteered in the classroom or participated on the Board.  I am the Co-Treasurer again this year.  I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with many fun activities.  We have an amazing PTSA Board and would love to see lots of parent volunteers to help us with upcoming events.  It's so fun to be involved and you'll have an even greater sense of community when you do!  In my free time I enjoy spending it with friends, at the gym, playing with my puppy, and being outdoors.

This is my first year as a Co-VP in Audubon, I also co chair the Math Puzzle and the School Dance. In my free time I like to go to the gym, go for walks, and this summer I am taking up paddle boarding with my son.

Ganesh Sankara Kumar, Co-VP Fundraising

I have a daughter who is in 5th grade here at Audubon. This is our sixth year at this school (started at Kindergarten), my fifth year as a traffic volunteer in the mornings and my second year as a Board member of the Audubon PTSA (VP of Communications). Really proud of the group of folks volunteering here at Audubon PTSA! I grew up in India. I did all my school/university education in India, with absolutely no exposure to the US education system! With that background, and my full time job at Google, I was a little bit hesitant in volunteering for the PTSA at the beginning, but this has been quite an interesting and satisfying experience here with such wonderful peers making it so easy for each other! I am grateful for this opportunity as it provides me a sense of purpose when contributing to enhance the wonderful public school system here in LWSD! Outside of the above, I love enjoying our family time with some South Indian Classical music (called Carnatic music), playing badminton, rooting hard for the Chennai SuperKings, the Indian cricket team and the Seattle Seahawks!

Chitra Ramaswamy, VP Communication

Hari Om! I am from Bombay, India. I moved to the Audubon area with my husband in 2012. This is my 7th year at Audubon! I have an older son who went to Audubon and is now in 7th grade at Rose Hill Middle and a younger son now at Audubon in 1st grade. I have served as volunteer, chair, and board member for the past 5 years. This year I'm also serving as the Area VP for the Kirkland School PTSAs. I am proud to be part of PTSA! It is incredible, the amount of work PTSAs do for student enrichment, and school and family support, and they do it very well! When I was starting to help the PTSA I was inspired by many mentors and parent friends by their passion and commitment in PTSA programs and that drove me into participating in it. Through PTSA I feel connected to my child's education. I have also a great group of parents to interact and be friends with! Outside PTSA I love taking care of my business, and enjoy art, carnatic music and WA outdoors.
